PATIALA: The sacked Punjab convener of the Aam Adami Party (AAP) Sucha Singh Chhotepur addressed a gathering of “volunteers” here today. He alleged that AAP leaders from Delhi had almost put his 40 years of political career in jeopardy, but the volunteers reinstated his honour. There was an estimated crowd of about 300 persons whom Chhotepur declared as volunteers.
AAP debunked the claim of numbers of volunteers because they were allegedly roped in by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).

It was alleged that Chhotepurs Parivartan Yatra was fuelled by the SAD.
Chhotepur alleged that Delhi based leaders of AAP were wanting to set up a power centre in Punjab in which they had failed.
He said, “The party allocated tickets to rich favourites and forgot it aam adami agenda. He was not consulted by the party while distributing tickets.”
Chhotepur rubbished the accusations of AAP and said that for the last over two years the state unit was managed by the funds of the supporters as the Delhi leadership did not provide a single penny for sustenance. In Punjab there was no state committee, no bank account and no treasurer. He fortified the party single handed and in turn received humiliation.
He said that Delhites were dividing the Punjabis in order to rule the state. But Punjabis had seen through the vicious game plan and would never let outsiders succeed.
Chhotepur claimed that 50 % of the intellectuals who had been extended support to the party had withdrawn from the party. He did not drop any hint of his next step but said that on September 16 his yatra would end and after that he would declare his next step.
